RED SUN RISING SIGNS TO RAZOR & TIE

(New York, NY) – Razor & Tie announces the addition of the Akron based rock band Red Sun Rising to its worldwide label roster. The band will work with producer Bob Marlette (Black Sabbath, Shinedown, Seether) in early 2015 and will release its debut album in 2015.  Red Sun Rising is confirmed to play Rock on The Range as well as a number of additional festivals.  Fresh off tour with Pop Evil the band will be hitting the road hard this year.

Mike Protich of Red Sun Rising comments, “Red Sun Rising is what rock was built on but is not today’s rock, but a new rock alternative. Subtle touches of blues mixed with the dark minor tonality of today. Our music allows the listener to travel through a song that is anything but linear. With soaring vocals we strive to find melodies that convey the passion of our thought provoking lyrical content and push the boundaries that rock today has somewhat forgotten.”
“From the minute we heard Mike Protich’s one-of-a-kind, huge voice to seeing Red Sun Rising take the stage and literally flatten the audience, we knew we watching a great band ready to take on the world. We left their packed hometown show in Akron, Ohio, convinced we had seen a true star on the rise,” adds Razor & Tie Senior Director of A&R Mike Gitter who signed the band.
Red Sun Rising is Mike Protich (vocals/guitar), Ryan Williams (guitar) and Tyler Valendza (guitar).  The trio, from Akron, Ohio, came together in 2012 and is quickly becoming an Active Rock/Alternative music force. Protich and Williams grew up together and have been songwriting partners for half their lives.  Valendza, the uber young, and once child prodigy guitarist has been with the band for the past 20 months and has become a key part of the songwriting team.  Additionally, Williams and Valendza have perfected their “twin guitar” vibe reminiscent of the Gossard/McCready and Delson/Shinoda partnerships.  RSR is perhaps best known for the live performance and have spent the last 18 months supporting bands including Pop Evil, Seether, Sevendust, Shinedown, Chevelle and others.   The band is managed by The Elevation Group & G&G Entertainment Consultants.
Red Sun Rising joins Razor & Tie at an exciting time in the label’s history as R&T finished 2014 as the #2 overall label at Rock Radio and the #1 indie label.  Led by breaking stars The Pretty Reckless, Starset and Attila and established greats All That Remains and The Sword, Razor & Tie is becoming the leading label in rock.

KYNG TO RELEASE NEW STUDIO ALBUM BURN THE SERUM ON APRIL 15TH ON RAZOR & TIE
Hear First Track “Burn The Serum” Now On Revolver
(New York, NY) – Southern California rock trio Kyng will release their new studio album, Burn The Serum (Razor & Tie ) on April 15th.  Burn The Serum was produced by Andrew Alekel(Foo Fighters, No Doubt, Queens of The Stone Age, Clutch) and James A. Rota (Sound City) and was recorded at Grandmaster Recorders LTD and Sword & Shield in Hollywood, CA as well as at Studio 606 in Northridge, CA.
Hear the first song off the album “Burn The Serum” now at Revolver.
Kyng’s Eddie Veliz explains the song, “Burn The Serum is one of the best songs that the guys and I have written so far. It’s extremely honest in the subject matter and the riff.”
On their second full-length album and first for Razor & Tie, the band harks back to the essence of heavy rock ‘n’ roll, forging thunderous percussion to lightning hot riffs driven by a divine vocal howl. At the same time, they keep their eyes wide open towards the future. Kyng find grandiosity in simplicity. The Los Angeles outfit may only boast three members—Eddie Veliz [vocals/guitar], Pepe Clarke [drums], and Tony Castaneda [bass/backup vocals]—but their collective roar could easily tip the Southern California Richter Scale.
Formed in 2008, Kyng broke out of the City of Angels in 2011 with the group’s independent debut Trampled Sun.  The album landed shining critical acclaim for its “California Heavy” sound merging the metallic meanderings of Soundgarden and Queens of the Stone Age with the timeless scope of Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. They hit the road with everybody from The Sword and Clutch to Trivium and Megadeth—even being picked to play at Metallica’s first-everOrion Music + More festival. Loudwire raved, “a hard hitting fusion of rocking goodness,” andUltimate-Guitar added, “if they keep churning out records as good as Trampled Sun, they will be mentioned right up there with Mastodon and the like.”
KYNG wrapped up 2013 with the Hellpop Tour with In This MomentMotionless In Whiteand All Hail The Yeti and will hit the road in 2014 to support of Burn The Serum (tour dates below).  .

Formed last year, the Columbus, OH based death metal band Death of an Era is the latest addition to join the Artery Recordings, the joint venture between The Artery Foundation and Razor & Tie. After a year supporting their self-released Reviler EP, this collective of high school friends had risen out of the Ohio underground and into the national spotlight. Alternative Press featured them in AP&R, and they carved out a rabid core of fans through relentless touring and an incomparable sound.  Confronting everything from child abuse and  drug addiction to deceit and bullying head-on, the group—Daniel Simpson [vocals], Nathan Stewart [guitar], Dustin Colling [guitar], and brothers Chris [bass] and Michael Cooper [drums]—offer catharsis in the face of chaos.
