ADRENALINE MOB, featuring Russell Allen (Symphony X), Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), John Moyer (Disturbed) and Mike Orlando (Sonic Stomp), and GuitarWorld.com have posted two more exclusive videos of ADRENALINE MOB discussing the recording of the band’s cover of ‘Romeo Delight’ (originally by Van Halen) for their new covers album Coverta, hitting stores tomorrow. Today’s videos feature commentary from vocalist Russell Allen and bassist John Moyer. You can watch the videos now at this link.

Coverta is an eight-track EP featuring cover versions of some of the band’s favorite songs. Long-time fans of Mike Portnoy are aware of the multiple cover albums he has released with Dream Theater and with Neal Morse.

THE DEATH OF ONE WORLD AND THE BIRTH OF ANOTHER… March 2011.

Formed in the year 2000 under the monicker Devils Whorehouse by Morgan from Marduk, and after releasing the highly acclaimed albums ”Revelation Unorthodox” and ”Blood & Ashes” as well as the eps, ”Howling” and ”Werewolf”, the band fell its time to change name as the music and philosophy behind the orchestra has outgrown its name. The end of one world and the birth of another. The band now continues under the name Death Wolf symbolising the strenght,dedication and will shown in its creations. The band just finished the recording of its upcoming album filled with Northern end themes and death hymns. Cold steel over the worlds throat. Scandinavian Black Metal has been in dire need for an injection of fresh blood during the last years. Now RIMFROST are powerfully sticking it to this scene with ice-cold needles. “Veraldar Nagli”, which translates as “Axis of the World” – meaning the North Star, is unleashing an avalanche of frost-bitten, melodic riffing. The Swedes from Borås are organically fusing Black, Death and Thrash Metal into a mighty sound of their own. RIMFROST successfully merge the frost-bitten drive of early IMMORTAL with the pounding groove and catchiness of AMON AMARTH and the harsh attitude of SLAYER. Rock n’ Roll history is rife with brothers working together to create their artistic vision. But rarely do we hear about a full-fledged family unit embarking down the treacherous path of a musical career. In the case of Texas based Mothership, the Brother Juett (Kyle on bass, younger brother Kelley on guitar) enlisted the aid of their father, John Juett, to help get the ‘ship off the ground. Raised on a healthy dose of their father’s 70’s-era record collection, the brothers began crafting songs fueled on the raucous and raw good time vibe when music seemed to know no bounds. Lifting off the pad for the first time in 2010, the band began to gain momentum and notoriety with their unabashed live shows. Knowing that the service of the family patriarch was temporary, Father Juett actively helped his boys find his replacement, and in late 2011, enter the mighty Judge Smith to hammer away on the skins. In early 2012, Mothership entered Crystal Clear Studios with Wo Fat mastermind Kent Stump manning the boards and by mid-year, the band self-released their debut album. It was the combination of the 70’s-era heavy rock fuzz and fury mixed with the blistering guitar solos of the NWOBHM-era that drew the bands attention to California-based Heavy Rock label, Ripple Music. In the waning months of 2012, after a successful year of traveling regionally throughout Texas and opening for national acts such as Prong, Red Fang, Gypsyhawk, Earthen Grave, and Lo-Pan, Mothership officially dubbed Ripple Music as its Home Port and began plotting a course for their first U.S. Tour in early 2013.

Mud River began in the fall of 2011 with a musical style that was geared towards alternative rock. Our goal was to bring back the sound of the 90’s bands like Nirvana and Alice In Chains.

A major lineup change in early 2012 left Mud River looking for new members and a new musical direction. The remaining original members Jose Baez and Ferney Padilla began jamming out with guitarist Anthony Morris and the new Mud River sound was discovered.

Heavier sounding guitar and bass along with powerful drumming help create a modern rock sound that will define Mud River. Melodic intros that build towards thunderous riffs help create the basic structure of the Mud River sound.
The music and lyrics were ready but Mud River was lacking a voice. The search for a vocalist was long and many singers auditioned but the Mud River lineup would not be complete until Dave Cornejo stepped up to the microphone. His voice is equally melodic, rhythmic, and powerful and has brought the Mud River songs to life.

The origin of Eye Empire began in 2007 when Corey Lowery (Stuck Mojo/Stereomud/Dark New Day) and B.C. Kochmit (Switched) started to construct what would eventually become the foundation of this empire.

After two years of writing and searching for the right voice, Donald Carpenter (Submersed) joined the group in October of 2009 followed by former Texas Hippie Coalition member Ryan Bennett on drums. The band’s debut album: Moment of Impact will be released in the coming months via Bad Puppy Records / Bulldog Productions.

Produced by Corey Lowery and Eye Empire, early pressings of the album have already sold thousands of copies on-line exclusively through mail order. An expanded track listing with three brand new songs make up the national release of Moment Of Impact.

The first single from the album, “I Pray” has already been heard on Sirius/XM’s “Octane” for the past few months; while the band has been staging one standing room only show after another. Eye Empire will immediately head back out on the road for dates beginning on September 4th in Madison, WI, and rolling in to a direct support run with Wayne Static’s Pighammer that commences on September 27th in Sacramento

The Living Infinite, the follow-up to Soilwork’s 2010 release, The Panic Broadcast, whichdebuted on U.S. Billboard charts at #88, was produced by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Amon Amarth, Bloodbath) and marks the recording debut of long-time touring guitarist David Andersson (Night Flight Orchestra).

Mike Orlando guitarist for Adrenaline Mob/Tred/Sonic Stomp, on the Hellion Rocks

Well I love what I do. Sometimes the stars align and great things happen. I was recently given the opportunity to do an interview with one of my favorite guitarists, Mike Orlando. First let’s get to know Mike a bit. Mike came onto my radar with the release of Sonic Stomp.

The sonic Stomp release is an instrumental work of art. Ranging from blazing shred to beautifully composed ballads this CD will take you on a trill filled musical journey. Featuring Ron Thal (Bumblefoot) and A.J. Pero from Twisted Sister as special guest performers. When you listen to this CD you will see why Mike should be ranked among the likes of Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci,Jason Becker and Yngwie Malmsteen.

Sonic Stomp II kicked my ass from the first note. It is equally amazing as the first, although a bit more intense. This time guests include Mike Romeo & Mike Pinella (Symphony X), Gary Hoey,Shane Gibson (Korn), Joe Stump & also featuring John Macaluso (Yngwie Malmsteen,TNT,James Labrie-Dream Theater,Ark,George Lynch). The magic keeps coming from Mike Orlando and his guitars.

I had heard hints and rumors of this project and was super excited for it to come to light. Omertà was released in March of 2012 to great acclaim.

Featuring, Mike Orlando -guitars and bass, Mike Portnoy- drums, Russell Allen – vocals, Adrenaline Mob is a powerhouse of a band. The album is a testament to solid rock n’ roll. While one can hear the influences of others on the record, it has a unique sound that is distinctly their own. A great album to throw in your player and drive down the road to.

Being released in March of 2013 Covertà, is a collection of covers that hold a special place in the hearts of Adrenaline Mob. The songs were recorded true to style, but with the power, rawness, and aggression that is Adrenaline Mob. We were treated to a teaser of “Romeo Delight” (Van Halen). See it here:

In my opinion, and no disrespect to the legendary Van Halen, “Romeo Delight” was always a more dangerous and aggressive song than the way it was recorded. I feel that Adrenaline Mob has captured that and more in their recording. We will have to wait and see what the rest of the EP holds in store for us.
