I Heard something very interesting from a good source today. My source tells me that Dellacóma Rio(ex Sunset Riot) and Jody Row and John John(ex Glitterboys) have been in contact since the breakup of their respective bands. Could there be a joining of forces down the track? This is very intriguing and we will continue to keep our ears open.
Dream Theater vocalist JAMES LABRIE’s new studio album effort entitled Impermanent Resonance, was recently released worldwide via InsideOutMusic and continues to turn heads.

There are so many polls, questions, battles, etc., etc., on who’s the best guitarist. I feel that this is a question that can never be truly asked or answered. In my opinion each and every guitarist that I listen to is distinctly different. I often wonder what Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Zakk Wylde, Tony Iommi, Dimebag, Randy Rhoads, and many more, would think (or would have thought) of all of these comparisons. For me, there is such joy in the diversity of styles in rock n’ roll. If everyone tried to sound like each other what would be the point? I say enjoy the bad ass guitarists that are out there and do yourself a favor and seek out the new crop of players that are trying their hardest to be heard. I just had to put this out there after seeing all of the recent polls and battles out there. Now, let’s talk about some axe slingers you should be listening to.
Justin Manning:
Justin is the guitarist for the band Crowned By Fire. Incredible riffs, blinding speed, and a certain uniqueness in style make Justin a player to watch. check Justin and Crowned By Fire in the video for “Witch In The Window” :
Redd Yoachum:
Redd is the lead guitarist for Scattered Hamlet. Redd plays with an old soul. He makes you feel the music that he plays, his passion fills your ears with sonic joy. I feel the guitar heroes who have passed on are smiling down on Redd. Here is the live version of “Skeleton Dixie”:

Craw is the guitarist for All Hail The Yeti. Craw is another one of those guitarists that when they play it gets right into your soul. All Hail The Yeti’s self titled release was my top CD for 2012. Boy am I glad the music industry is back in the hands of the musicians. Because of this bands are making the records they want to make, and they are damn good. Death Alley Motor Cult has made one of those DO NOT MISS records. Before we talk about the record let’s talk a bit about Death Alley Motor Cult. Comprised of four distinct individuals: Death Alley Dave – Vocals and Lead Guitar, Zero-G – Rhythm Guitar and backing Vox, The Falcon – Bass and backing vox
The Banker – Drums. Separately they are unique individuals, together they form a solid rocking unit. On to the record, The Outlaw Chronicles will take you on a brutal journey that you will want to go on again and again. Your journey starts with “She Wants” which sets the pace for this sonic descent into the world of Death Alley Motor Cult. Like a fish hook in the mouth of a trout “Sex Parade” snags you with a solid groove and will have your fist pumping in the air. The lead off single “Bow Down” knocks on your eardrums and then simply kicks them in, full of aggression and power this is the PERFECT song for the pit. “Funk You” well, “C” makes it meaningful if you get my drift. “I’m Not Dead” gives one the self affirmation to stay strong and persevere, not dead, NEVER SAY DIE! “Robot Bride” makes me think of blasting down the highway at about 90 with the sound CRANKED TO 11+!!! “Bad Ass Mutha” yes they are, and yes they mean it this one makes you feel like it too! “One More For The Road” keeps the pace til the very end, no slacking on this record. If you’re looking for a technical album, you won’t find it here. Loud, dirty, sleazy rock n’ roll with loud guitars, throbbing bass, pounding drums, and I just gargled with razorblades vocals is what you get with Death Alley Motor Cult!!! Kudos to Death Alley Motor Cult for making a kickass record! Special thanks to Eddie’s Mates for turning me on to this band!

SWEDEN – Ex-Hellacopters guitarist, Robert Dahlqvist, has announced a release date of October 2, 2013 for his debut solo effort, aptly named Solo, on Despotz Records.
“After ten years with the Hellacopters and four years with Dundertåget and a variety of freelance jobs, it is now time for me to release my first solo album,” said Dahlqvist. “I can, from the bottom of my heart to say, that I have never been this proud of some music I made – feels like a life’s work, everything from the music to the lyrics and production.”

“Björn has been extremely careful and sensitive throughout the shoot, but in no way has it been difficult to record. It cannot be anything better than to record music with a friend and be friends through the whole process, it has actually never happened before.”
