DEATH WOLF

THE DEATH OF ONE WORLD AND THE BIRTH OF ANOTHER… March 2011.

Formed in the year 2000 under the monicker Devils Whorehouse by Morgan from Marduk, and after releasing the highly acclaimed albums ”Revelation Unorthodox” and ”Blood & Ashes” as well as the eps, ”Howling” and ”Werewolf”, the band fell its time to change name as the music and philosophy behind the orchestra has outgrown its name. The end of one world and the birth of another. The band now continues under the name Death Wolf symbolising the strenght, dedication and will shown in its creations. The band just finished the recording of its upcoming album filled with Northern end themes and death hymns. Cold steel over the worlds throat. More info regarding its imminent release will follow shortly.. The band can also proudly announce its first live apperance which will be taking place in June at the Wave-Gotik Treffen in Leipzig, Germany on the 12th of June. Tracklist an info regarding release date will be announced very soon. Stay tuned!!!

RIMFROST

Scandinavian Black Metal has been in dire need for an injection of fresh blood during the last years. Now RIMFROST are powerfully sticking it to this scene with ice-cold needles. “Veraldar Nagli”, which translates as “Axis of the World” – meaning the North Star, is unleashing an avalanche of frost-bitten, melodic riffing. The Swedes from Borås are organically fusing Black, Death and Thrash Metal into a mighty sound of their own. RIMFROST successfully merge the frost-bitten drive of early IMMORTAL with the pounding groove and catchiness of AMON AMARTH and the harsh attitude of SLAYER. Despite this heavy name-dropping the duo has created a sound of its own long since its founding and honed it to sophistication in its eighth year of existence.

GRAVEYARD BBQ

http://www.youtube.com/brownbagjohnson

The seed of fire was born in the summer of 2003 when 4 friends got together to have fun, krank up the amps, and raise some hell! Originally hailing from Waltham,MA, Graveyard BBQ’s self-proclaimed “DIRTCORE” sound is a style coined by Slinger/Vox/Songwriter/Visionary/Creator, “Brownbag Johnson”. It’s recipe is a unique high-voltage blend of “Old school Delta Country Blues, penetrated by Monstrous/Sleazy guitar riffs, Electrifying slide-guitar, Thunderous Bass and Drums, Powerful/ Gritty/ Sinister vocals, fronted by a rebel rock attitude that boasts SEX, BOOZE, n ROCKnROLL!!!” Of Graveyard BBQ’s many traits, fun is the bottom line. They incorporate their strong roots into their own modern soul-laced style of an electrified rock carnival that grabs you by the balls and says “I said dance!” Their song’s lyrical content is almost always laced with a devishly fun n’ twisted sense of humor, but also contains more serious themes of real individual life experiences, substance, and conviction of payin their dues while singin’ the blues which makes the story complete

MOTHERSHIP

644509_546037095441142_2087514022_nhttps://www.facebook.com/mothershipusa

Rock n’ Roll history is rife with brothers working together to create their artistic vision. But rarely do we hear about a full-fledged family unit embarking down the treacherous path of a musical career. In the case of Texas based Mothership, the Brother Juett (Kyle on bass, younger brother Kelley on guitar) enlisted the aid of their father, John Juett, to help get the ‘ship off the ground. Raised on a healthy dose of their father’s 70’s-era record collection, the brothers began crafting songs fueled on the raucous and raw good time vibe when music seemed to know no bounds. Lifting off the pad for the first time in 2010, the band began to gain momentum and notoriety with their unabashed live shows. Knowing that the service of the family patriarch was temporary, Father Juett actively helped his boys find his replacement, and in late 2011, enter the mighty Judge Smith to hammer away on the skins. In early 2012, Mothership entered Crystal Clear Studios with Wo Fat mastermind Kent Stump manning the boards and by mid-year, the band self-released their debut album. It was the combination of the 70’s-era heavy rock fuzz and fury mixed with the blistering guitar solos of the NWOBHM-era that drew the bands attention to California-based Heavy Rock label, Ripple Music. In the waning months of 2012, after a successful year of traveling regionally throughout Texas and opening for national acts such as Prong, Red Fang, Gypsyhawk, Earthen Grave, and Lo-Pan, Mothership officially dubbed Ripple Music as its Home Port and began plotting a course for their first U.S. Tour in early 2013.

ANCIENT SPELL

From the depths of the underground comes Ancient Spell…. A Los Angeles based band comprised of local musicians Conrad Viz on Guitars/Vocals, Jeff Clark on Bass and Norm Rodriguez on Drums. They have come together to bring forth yet another forging of Metal. Influenced by many genres of music, they have one common style they have a true passion for, Heavy Metal. Inspired by classic, thrash, doom, and power metal, they each bring their talents to the table and create a Heavy wall of sound

MUD RIVER

305151_341439475947570_153321668_nhttps://www.facebook.com/mudriver3?fref=ts

Mud River began in the fall of 2011 with a musical style that was geared towards alternative rock. Our goal was to bring back the sound of the 90’s bands like Nirvana and Alice In Chains.

A major lineup change in early 2012 left Mud River looking for new members and a new musical direction. The remaining original members Jose Baez and Ferney Padilla began jamming out with guitarist Anthony Morris and the new Mud River sound was discovered.

Heavier sounding guitar and bass along with powerful drumming help create a modern rock sound that will define Mud River. Melodic intros that build towards thunderous riffs help create the basic structure of the Mud River sound.
The music and lyrics were ready but Mud River was lacking a voice. The search for a vocalist was long and many singers auditioned but the Mud River lineup would not be complete until Dave Cornejo stepped up to the microphone. His voice is equally melodic, rhythmic, and powerful and has brought the Mud River songs to life.

DEVILSKIN

Devilskin is a four piece band from Hamilton New Zealand formed in June 2010, they already have guts, class, kudos and confidence. The sum total of a determined and accomplished group of musicians who know what they want, the music is organic, dynamic and real.

The origin of Eye Empire began in 2007 when Corey Lowery (Stuck Mojo/Stereomud/Dark New Day) and B.C. Kochmit (Switched) started to construct what would eventually become the foundation of this empire.

After two years of writing and searching for the right voice, Donald Carpenter (Submersed) joined the group in October of 2009 followed by former Texas Hippie Coalition member Ryan Bennett on drums. The band’s debut album: Moment of Impact will be released in the coming months via Bad Puppy Records / Bulldog Productions.

Produced by Corey Lowery and Eye Empire, early pressings of the album have already sold thousands of copies on-line exclusively through mail order. An expanded track listing with three brand new songs make up the national release of Moment Of Impact.

The first single from the album, “I Pray” has already been heard on Sirius/XM’s “Octane” for the past few months; while the band has been staging one standing room only show after another. Eye Empire will immediately head back out on the road for dates beginning on September 4th in Madison, WI, and rolling in to a direct support run with Wayne Static’s Pighammer that commences on September 27th in Sacramento

This is their “Moment of Impact” and it’s just the beginning.

THE MERCILESS BOOK OF METAL LISTS: New Quote Snippets from Kerry King and Philip Anselmo Released!‏

THE MERCILESS BOOK OF METAL LISTS: New Quote Snippets from Kerry King and Philip Anselmo Released!

Hitting Stores April 9, 2013 — Written by NYC Music Scene Veterans Howie Abrams and Sacha Jenkins

Featuring Exclusive Photography by Iconic East Coast Photographer Frank White

image001 (6)

The Merciless Book Of Metal Lists, compiled by Howie Abrams and Sacha Jenkins, is the ultimate look at the world of heavy metal via the ease and convenience of a list. No stone is left unturned here, and I mean no stone. If you think you have a list about metal that isn’t in this book, chances are you’re wrong. Both Jenkins and Abrams have exhaustively researched and brainstormed Merciless and delivered a look at their beloved genre that is informative and fun.” – Iann Robinson, CraveOnline.com

THE MERCILESS BOOK OF METAL LISTS, written by NYC music scene veterans Howie Abrams and Sacha Jenkins, is set to be released on April 9, 2013. Touted as being “the most opinionated compendium ever written concerning Heavy Metal”, THE MERCILESS BOOK OF METAL LISTS is comprised of 208 jam-packed pages representing all that is glorious across the world of Heavy Metal. The book features dozens of never-before-seen photographs from iconic East Coast photographer Frank White.

The foreword for THE MERCILESS BOOK OF METAL LISTS comes from one of the most respected names in the genre, Slayer guitarist extraordinaire Kerry King, with a candid and passionate afterword from Pantera/Down frontman Philip Anselmo.

“This book will appeal to metalheads because it’s what they love. They’ll get to laugh at the industry and at themselves. Any information is good information, and metal kids want it.” – Kerry King (Slayer)

“I am an unabashed heavy metal fan, and I know as well as anyone, that metal fans can be an extremely loyal lot. But we are a very critical lot too. With each new movement, a new, defiant, outspoken, and sovereign audience is born. Music is older than all of us, so its history is ours to writhe in and absorb.” – Philip Anselmo(Pantera/Down)

There are numerous other contributions from key metal luminaries and industry personnel like:

Scott Ian (Anthrax)

Gary Holt (Exodus)

Max Cavalera (Sepultura/Soulfly)

Katon W. DePena (Hirax)

John Gallagher (Raven)

Danny Lilker (Nuclear Assault/SOD)

Eddie Trunk (That Metal Show)

Jon & Marsha Zazula (Megaforce Records)

Brian Slagel (Metal Blade Records)

Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica Producer)

ILL BILL (Heavy Metal Kings/La Coka Nostra)

MC Serch (3rd Bass)

Richard Christy (Charred Walls of the Damned/The Howard Stern Show)

Monte Conner (Roadrunner Records/Nuclear Blast Records)

Borivoj Krgin (Blabbermouth.net)

Shaun Glass (Soil/Dirge Within)

Betsy Weiss (Bitch)

Presented in the form of dozens of factual, random and often outrageous lists, THE MERCILESS BOOK OF METAL LISTS dares to call many out for being the worst instead of being the best. It points out the triumphs, as well as the miserable failures concerning metal, from a diehard fan’s point-of-view.

TMBML leaves no stone unturned, often blurring the lines separating fact and hilarity. You want to know about album covers that feature goats on them? WhatMotorhead icon Lemmy’s warts might tell you if they could speak? The achievements Iron Maiden would never have reached had their original vocalist Paul Dianno remained in the band? Well then, this book is for you.

To pre-order THE MERCILESS BOOK OF METAL LISTS, please visit Amazon.com. You can learn more about the book at the official Facebook page orAbrams Books.

Till Death… shows what it might be like to date a gothic matriarch, like Morticia, Elvira, Lily, etc. prior to them meeting their Gomez or Herman,” states photographer JEREMY SAFFER. “What would a boy would have to go through and endure to win her heart? We really tried to capture the comedic aspects of romantic goth culture and horror, giving the book a Addams/Tales From The Crypt style sense of humor.”

“Jeremy is such a doll to work with,” adds Ash Costello. “I can be kind of a pain, as most girls tend to be, but he always made me feel so comfortable and confident and really excited about what we were doing. 5. It’s Alright With Me

6. Falling Off The Wagon (Featuring Randy “The Arsonist” Cooper)

7. Guilty Plea

8. Mississippi Queen

10. Family Tree

11. Skeleton Dixie

I have anxiously awaited this CD for a while now. Now that I’ve had the chance to listen to it several times, it was worth the wait. This CD restores my faith in good old-fashioned guitar driven Rock N’ Roll. With nods to their various influences the members of Scattered Hamlet infuse this CD with the sound that makes Scattered Hamlet  unique. This ain’t no pretty record, it’s loud, it’s dirty, and G-d bless it it’s ROCK N’ ROLL!!! These new songs coupled with their live performance makes Scattered Hamlet a band not miss when they invade a town near you. There is an outstanding guest on the track “Falling Off The Wagon” guitar great Randy “The Arsonist” Cooper. Randy’s guitar work in the track shows off his amazing playing skills. One of the earmarks for a great CD for me is that when I listen to it there is no need to skip tracks, there is no filler or throw away tracks on this. I cannot pick a favorite track because they are all worthy of that praise, I can, however, point out a couple of standout tracks: “Warning”, “Shelter”, “Powder Kegs and Gasoline”, and “Skeleton Dixie”. If you want a good time, feel good, driving down the road with the windows open, drinking beer with your buds, CD this is the one for 2013, look no further. Scattered Hamlet……HELL YES!!!! First, for the guitarists:

THE EPIPHONE LTD. ED. BRENDON SMALL “THUNDERHORSE” EXPLORER OUTFIT GUITAR (pictured above)

EPIPHONE presents the Ltd. Ed. Brendon Small “Thunderhorse” Explorer Outfit, a one-of-a-kind signature guitar for one of the most eclectic and challenging artists working today.  Do we mean Brendon Small? No! Dethklok, of course!  Brendon Small is the co-creator and comedic–and musical–imagination behind Dethklok, the virtual metal band featured in the hit animated program produced by [adult swim], Metalocalypse. And now with the “Thunderhorse” Explorer Outfit, EPIPHONE and Brendon have collaborated to create the ultimate 6-string weapon packed with exclusive features only found on EPIPHONE. It’s a guitar worthy of “the world’s greatest cultural force” and in the hands of Dethklok lead guitarist Skwisgaar Skwigelf, a serious and potentially lethal musical weapon to be reckoned with. Billions of Dethklok fans have already noticed the EPIPHONE “Thunderhorse” is the ultimate Brendon Small Signature Explorer and have declared it totally metal times infinity. Retail price: $999.

And, for the bassists (after all, this concert does go to benefit a bass scholarship at Berklee College Of Music!):

THE GALLIEN-KRUEGER MB 500 SUPER LIGHTWEIGHT BASS AMP

Weighing in at less than 4 lbs. and taking up less than one rack space, the MB500 delivers 500 watts of power in a package that will easily fit into your gig bag. Featuring GK’s legendary four band active EQ and contour control, the MB500 allows you to tweak your tone before hitting the digital power section. In addition to the generous tone shaping capabilities, the preamp section also features a foot switchable boost channel with independent volume control to dial in just the right amount of grind and level boost when needed. Retail price: $714.

WESFEST 8 is a benefit concert whose net proceeds go to benefit the Wes Wehmiller Endowed Scholarship at Berklee College Of Music. The scholarship fund honors Wes Wehmiller (1971-2005), a Berklee graduate (’92) and highly accomplished bassist, athlete and photographer who died of thyroid cancer in January 2005. Established by his family and friends, the Wes Wehmiller Endowed Scholarship is awarded annually to a continuing student at Berklee who best exemplifies the excellence and grace Wehmiller showed as a bassist and as a human being. The WesFest concert series and related fundraising drive has raised more than $150,000 over the past seven years. Additional sponsors for WESFEST 8 include Mike Lull Custom Guitars, D’Addario Strings, and Studio Instrument Rentals.
