DOWN have just announced new festival dates in Europe for Summer 2013, making stops in Copenhagen, Amsterdam andTokaj, Hungary. Stay tuned for more dates to be announced!
I have been fortunate in my life. I have a solid family, am gainfully employed, and in relatively (there have been some issues) good health, and I have my extended music family. We are a community and we need to stand strong for those in our community. In the last few years I have met some great bands and some great fans. The only way the music community can succeed is by the support given by EVERYONE. We need to remember this every day. We also need to take the time and try to get to know each other and help each other through our various hard times. Sometimes a crisis can be averted by someone just listening to someone else. There have been many times that a simple phone call has made a difference in my life when I’m feeling down. The world used to seem such vast place when I was a child, not so anymore. As of this post, we are at 121 countries actively reading the blog, 121 countries! Music lovers from around the globe, FAMILY from the four corners of the earth. What does this mean? To me it gives me the ability to share bands that I know and the music they make with people who might not have ever had the chance to hear them. I also get to find and hear bands that I would not necessarily have heard as well. One of the things I am passionate about is helping these various bands break out from their respective “local” areas and bring their music and live shows to the world. Remember: KISS, Motley Crue, Metallica, etc. are ALL local bands somewhere. Do me a couple of favors today in your travels: 1. take the time to stop and tell someone that you care for them, and LISTEN to what they have to say. 2. Share a piece of music or a band with someone that might not have heard it/them. Let us as musicians/fans make a difference and show people the strength of our music community.
I just learned of the school shooting and we here at the Hellion Rocks, Bleach Bangs Radio, Music U-Night, Rock U-Night, send out our deepest sympathy. Hold your family close and show them love. Let us, the music community, stand strong for those in need.

Cult classic debut of genre-defining cold industrial black metal remastered with bonus tracks and extra DVD
NORWAY – One of the pioneering industrial black metal forces to emerge in the early 90’s, Mysticum and Peaceville Records are proud to announce the reissue of the band’s debut album, In the Streams of Inferno, on February 26th. The reissued version of In the Streams of Inferno will feature an extensive remastering, courtesy of Tom Kvålsvoll at Strype Studios in Oslo, Norway, two bonus songs and bonus DVD. The packaging also contains new artwork made in close association with the band to fully reflect the intended vision, plus liner notes and additional lyrics. The release will be available in both CD and vinyl format.
The bonus DVD will contain two live shows from 1996. “Grotten” in Asker, Norway has until now been totally unknown to the masses except for the few that were present at the show. The other show is the more well-known Bradford, UK set from Mysticum’s European tour with Marduk and Gehenna. Overall both gigs give a great glimpse into the pure atmosphere and intensity of this cult act – a must for all fans.
A perfect concoction of cold, primitive black metal and forward-thinking ideas from an act unafraid to push boundaries, the hell of In the Streams of Inferno has had a lasting and profound impact on many since 1996.
The band was originally signed to Euronymous’ Deathlike Silence Productions label, such was his belief in the band (Mysticum even featured Hellhammer from Mayhem in their line-up for a brief period). However, this venture proved to be cut short following his death, forcing Mysticum to look elsewhere for the release of their eventual debut album, In the Streams of Inferno finally surfacing in 1996.
Unifying the core trio of Herr General Cerastes, Svartravn and Mean Malmberg in late 2011, Mysticum has commenced work on its follow-up album, Planet Satan, to be released 2013 on Peaceville Records.
John Winston Lennon October 9th 1940 – December 8th 1980
John Lennon will always be a part of my life. As a small child I loved his music, as a young man I learned to appreciate his style of writing, as an adult I learned to appreciate the man and his craft. Thank you John for sharing with us and giving up so much for the world. I will do my best to keep your music in the ears of those I can reach.
Darrell Lance Abbott August 20th, 1966 – December 8th, 2004
Dime gave me new hope in Rock N’ Roll. He cam and kicked our asses and made us feel good about it. The people who were fortunate to be close to him spoke of his kindness and willingness to give. His guitar playing was innovative and carried on (and, dare I say, improved upon somewhat) the legacy of his mentors before him. His life was short but impacted the music world and he was taken from us doing what he loved. I will always miss you Dime.
We remember John, Dime, and all of the fallen people who have given up their lives doing what they love or in protecting others. We humbly thank, and respect you all.
ADZ: It’s a long story my brother what would you like to know first.
How did it all come together?
ADZ: Well its been GA our front-mans’ baby for a long time , things only really hit a pro stride when myself and Davie joined just under two years ago and introduced our style and drive into the mix.
Speaking of style and drive, describe the sound of FDX.
ADZ: That’s not an easy one to define , GA would probably give a much more apt description than me but I would say that the X are the next natural evolution of metal music.
How has the recording process been?
ADZ: Long and stressful as its been a self funded and mostly self recorded album between our home rehearsal area and couple of local studios here in south Wales but given the situation I believe we’ve done some pretty hefty work for the first official FDX release.
Is there a title for the record?
ADZ: The current title is ” Killer. “
Is this a “Full” release or an EP?
ADZ: A full album.
How will it be released?
ADZ: Both physically and digitally through PolyRam records.
Do you plan on touring to support the new record?
ADZ: Oh for sure bro , weve a couple of small festival slots booked here for February and a small run. f dates then were planning a small U.S. Promo tour in late march sorta time with fellow PolyRam label mates still to be confirmed.
Tell us anything else you want about FDX
ADZ: Well the only thing to really say is expect the unexpected in the most bad-ass way and finally as we always say ” Prepare to not know what the f**k hit you ” we’re coming.
Thanks for this quick Q&A, any shout outs you want to give?
ADZ: Anytime brother , a massive shout out to the incredible DBZ guitars and diamond amplification for the support and yourself for your amazing support brother , what you’re doing with Bleach Bangs and the blog is awesome and you will always have my support.
